Things to keep in mind:
- Look into media/image/branding, how it relates to gentrification. (Example, according to the zine "A Gentrification Reader", Chicago's West Village was gentrified after Billboard magazine labeled it the nexus of cutting edge Chicago.)
- What are we publishing/for whom at the end of class?
(Possibility: CDC voter info pamphlet for residents of CDC housing.)
- Try to include citations for your research.
- Those who have the greatest fear of crime are not those who are the greatest victims of crime.
- More on "broken windows theory": fear of crime causes crime.
- Down with computers! All hail the index card! How can we do this research/knowledge sharing as non-digitally as possible?
